Sublimatable Tumblers & Why Everyone Is Switching To Sublimation

Stop what you're doing!

Never wait for epoxy to dry again!

Throw out all your cup turners (Haha - we're kidding but read about why everyone is switching to sublimation!)

Sublimatable tumblers are made with a special coating that allows them to be customized using the sublimation printing process. Sublimation printing is a process where heat and pressure are used to transfer ink onto the coating of the tumbler. This results in a permanent image that won't peel or fade over time. Did we mention it only takes a few seconds? WOO HOO!

Sublimatable tumblers are very easy to customize because the sublimation process is straightforward and doesn't require any special skills or training. LITERALLY ANYONE CAN SUBLIMATE WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS! To customize a sublimatable tumbler, you will need a sublimation printer, sublimation paper, heat-resistant tape, a heat press, and a sublimatable tumbler.

The first step is to create a design using graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. Or you can buy a design online. Once you have your design, you print it onto sublimation paper using a sublimation printer. Then, you wrap the paper around the tumbler and secure it in place with heat-resistant tape.

Next, you place the tumbler in a heat press and apply heat and pressure for a specified amount of time. The heat causes the ink on the paper to turn into a gas, which then bonds with the coating on the tumbler. Once the process is complete, you remove the paper and tape to reveal a vibrant and permanent image on the tumbler.

Overall, sublimatable tumblers are easy to customize because the sublimation process is simple and doesn't require any special skills or training. This makes them a popular choice for crafters, small and large businesses and individuals who want to create customized drinkware with ease in a short time.

Hope this was helpful!

  • I do enjoy that sublimation takes less time to make and aren’t easily ruined by dropping. I still love the epoxied tumbler. There is just something about the sparkle of the glitter. I also use sublimation as a base for some of my rhinestone tumblers which make it easier to follow a pattern. ☺️

  • My favorite part about sublimation is peeling the paper off to see the final product. So satisfying!

  • I love sublimation. Fast easy, and affordable. I feel my true art comes out when I epoxy :) though.
