Powder Coated by the Cup FAQs

What is powder coating?

Powder coating is a dry-powder finish that's electrostatically applied and then heat-cured to bond with the stainless steel. The result is a uniform, durable color or pattern that's more scratch-resistant than paint and won't peel, chip, or fade with everyday use. The finish also adds a slightly textured grip that raw stainless steel doesn't have.

How do I clean a powder coated tumbler?

Hand wash with warm water and mild soap. Avoid the dishwasher, abrasive sponges, and bleach-based cleaners - high heat and harsh detergents damage powder coating over time. With hand washing, the finish will look new for years.

Are these dishwasher safe?

We recommend hand washing to protect the finish. Even tumblers marketed as dishwasher safe can experience dulling or chipping after repeated dishwasher cycles.

What size should I get?

The 20oz skinny fits most cup holders and works well for everyday use. The 30oz modern curve is the most popular size. The 40oz big swig is for all-day hydration or anyone who doesn't want to refill often.

Do these come with a lid and straw?

Most do. Each product page lists exactly what's included. Replacement lids are available separately.

Can I customize a powder coated tumbler?

For tumblers intended for sublimation or epoxy customization, our sublimation blank collection and plain stainless tumblers are the right starting point. These powder coated tumblers are designed as finished products, but can be customized with laser engraving or UV DTF transfers.

How is this collection different from the rest of your drinkware?
