Stop what you're doing!
Never wait for epoxy to dry again!
Throw out all your cup turners (Haha - we're kidding but read about why everyone is switching to sublimation!)
Sublimatable tumblers are made with a special coating that allows them to be customized using the sublimation printing process. Sublimation printing is a process where heat and pressure are used to transfer ink onto the coating of the tumbler. This results in a permanent image that won't peel or fade over time. Did we mention it only takes a few seconds? WOO HOO!
Sublimatable tumblers are very easy to customize because the sublimation process is straightforward and doesn't require any special skills or training. LITERALLY ANYONE CAN SUBLIMATE WITH THE RIGHT TOOLS! To customize a sublimatable tumbler, you will need a sublimation printer, sublimation paper, heat-resistant tape, a heat press, and a sublimatable tumbler.
The first step is to create a design using graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. Or you can buy a design online. Once you have your design, you print it onto sublimation paper using a sublimation printer. Then, you wrap the paper around the tumbler and secure it in place with heat-resistant tape.
Next, you place the tumbler in a heat press and apply heat and pressure for a specified amount of time. The heat causes the ink on the paper to turn into a gas, which then bonds with the coating on the tumbler. Once the process is complete, you remove the paper and tape to reveal a vibrant and permanent image on the tumbler.
Overall, sublimatable tumblers are easy to customize because the sublimation process is simple and doesn't require any special skills or training. This makes them a popular choice for crafters, small and large businesses and individuals who want to create customized drinkware with ease in a short time.
Hope this was helpful!

I love working on sublimation.
I do enjoy that sublimation takes less time to make and aren’t easily ruined by dropping. I still love the epoxied tumbler. There is just something about the sparkle of the glitter. I also use sublimation as a base for some of my rhinestone tumblers which make it easier to follow a pattern. ☺️
Favorite thing about sublimation is the variety and ease of designs. My favorite part of sublimation is the reveal! Hold you breath in anticipation excitement!
My favorite part about sublimation is peeling the paper off to see the final product. So satisfying!
I love sublimation. Fast easy, and affordable. I feel my true art comes out when I epoxy :) though.
I just started sublimation. I love it. The designs are endless and the colors are just fantastic.
I love sublimation. I do it as a hobby and not as a job. I don’t charge anyone for anything I make. I mostly make it for my family and special friends. Usually its personalized stuff of people that they love. Here recently I have been able to make memorial gifts for close friends and family members. They loved them. Its the only thing I could think of doing in such a time of grief instead of just sending flowers. I made a sublimated tumbler for a dear friend who lost her daughter. She loved it and it was very appreciated. Sublimation gives us the ability to take very personalized pictures and place them on a wide range of items. Its something that you cannot get anywhere else.
I have bought sublimation, wine gift sets, stainless steel, glow in the dark as well as speaker tumblers and I love them all!! I love all there products and the fast delivery. I really appreciate all the flash sales while you guys are helping crafters save money while stocking up on supplies of great quality.
My favorite part of sublimation is when I get to peel the tape back and look at the Clear Stainless Steel are my new favorite. Nothings wrong with the white ones don’t get me wrong. Just the clear ones are just over the top for me anyway….But I Love all the Hogg tumblers I have purchased.
The ability to have a quality product in less than an hour is a massive bonus. These tumblers are also at a lower price point so they add flexibility to my shop.
I love the sublimated tumblers they never disappoint and I love all the styles there are !
I’m just starting out with sublimation. I’m and extreme DIY’er/Crafter. I love learning how to do and make new things. I didn’t really want to do epoxy because there are so many out there already doing it. Plus, I want to be able to sublimate so many other things besides just tumblers. I’ve already made a lot of mistakes but I’m learning. Sublimation IS an art and I’ve found it’s not quite as simple as some people seem to think lol
I love your tumblers. They’re all that I’ve used so far. Can’t wait to try the different ones (glow, holographic etc) as well as some of your other sub blanks!
I love sublimation, because I am in Stage 4 and this allows me to still be able to make tumblers.Love these HOGGS.Thank you Stainless Steel Depot for your great products.
I love doing tumblers.
I love sublimation because of how easy it is to do and how vibrant the prints come out!
I just started with sublimation and I am in love with the amount I can do. I can really express myself through art that people actually want to have in their home. I started with vinyl which was ok but to be able to design a beautiful tumbler that people actually love is an amazing feeling! Thanks to the stainless depot, they have helped greatly with amazing prices and fast shipping!
I love to sublimate!! A little practice and after watching YouTube videos I think I’ve come up with a technique that works for me!! And I love these tumblers.
I love sublimation!
I agree 💯 % with you. I love ordering Sublimation items from you! They come out perfect everytime!!! Thanks for the blog!
I LOVE sublimation! My favorite part is definitely that you are not limited on designs. For example- with vinyl, it has to be something that you can weed. With water slides and clear cast decals they generally need to be put over a lighter colored base so that they show. With sublimation you can use any image. And the things that you can sublimate on are endless! I have done coffee mugs and tumblers from Hogg. I have also sublimated magnets, mouse pads, keychains, etc. And it’s SO easy to do!
Ugh. Sorry but the reasons you’re suggesting sublimation is so great are the exact reasons why a lot of epoxy-based tumbler makers are becoming fed up with the obsession of, and catering to sublimation tumblers.
While I can obviously only speak for myself, a craft IS something which takes skill and time. It can’t be achieved in seconds and should be considered an art. Not cheapened by printing someone else’s copyrighted art on a piece of paper, taping it to a tumbler, heating it and voila, less than a minute later, you’re done.
Meanwhile, epoxy tumbler makers (also your customers) are left having to explain over and over again why we don’t charge $20 for a cup or why we won’t make a copyrighted tumbler for them.
I hope the topic of your next blog post speaks to something more of us may find interesting.
Best regards,
Judith Keeler
I LOVE your sublimation tumblers. They take to colors well and come out beautifully!
I love the time that is saved doing sublimation vs. Epoxy tumblers. And I love the awesome selection of sub tumblers you have.
